drove thru a puddle and my 04 envoy stalled out

i have a 2004 gmc envoy 4x4 automatic trans with about 63000 kms on it.

i drove it thru a huge puddle on a muddy road and the engine stalled out, now it wont turn over.

im going to take the spark plugs out and change the oil/filter today.

i also read to crank the engine over manually with the oil pan plug out to get any water out of the cylinders. do i just turn the belt to do this?


is there anything else i could do before resorting to getting a mechanic to charge me an arm and a leg.
