My dads Envoy started to have problems while driving he heard a mild noise in the engine and he stoped to put oil in the truck and it stopped and drove fine then the next day he drove it and it was fine for awhile then started the have heavy white smoke. There was no noise from the engine; it sounded fine when i went to look at it. There was no external visible problems. It would still crank and move. but the smoke was heavy. I could not smell oil but the wind blew the smoke awayand the were no visible leaks. What could possibly be wrong and would it be easier to fix or buy a new vehicle. this is the 4th midsize GM SUV that has given us problems. That cars havent. and we only have had 4 SUVs.

Are you experiencing overheating? If so could be a blown headgasket cracked head or block.

Get it block and pressure tested
