The power window on the passenger side will go 'down' but many times fails to go 'up.' Since the motor operates in the downward direction, I suspect the problem resides in the switch. The same problem occurs whether using the dirver's or passengers side window control switch.
The mechanic wants to replace the motor and regulator which increases the repair significantly. I am told that the motor has drawn enough current to damage the switch and all needs to be replaced.
I noted that the circuit is fused and any overload condition is mitigated by a blown fuse.
He agreed to replace the switch, but warned me of future problems. What are you thoughts?
