My 1995 GMC Pickup recently died while driving on the road in the city. It seemed as if it was out of gas, however, I had just put gas in it the day before. I went ahead and added a couple of gallons just to be sure. The truck would start but ran the same as if not getting fuel. I then changed the fuel filter, and tested the pump for supply. The fuel was making it all the way to the injectors. After being started it would idle, but die when accelerated or put in gear. the only way it will run is if you rapidly pump on the accelearator and put it in gear quickly wile pumping, it will then eventually die.

Could be faulty or clogged injectors. Check the fuel pressure to make certain that the fuel regulator is working properly.
