Engine Mechanical problem
1992 GMC C2500 Four Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
I need to change out the rod and main berrings,also the oil pump how hard or easy is it to do ?I have never done this before but I catch on quick. This is a 6.2 diesel engine

Hi there,

This is not a difficult Job, just time consuming and very dirty. your best option would be to purchase a repairer manual for this engine and read up first. Then if you feel you are capable of doing the job, have a go, but make sure you have all the correct tooling first and you will have to measure the journals to make sure that they wont been a re grind or you will be not that much better off.
