power steering squeals

GMC Sierra 1500,1993,200,000k, The power steering pump sqeals until i drive for a few minutes only when it's below -20 outside. Why??? anybody know? it sounds terrible!

It says 200,000 k on the original question, maybe u just missed it, let me know thanx alot

Sounds like you need to replace the power steering pump, but before you do that, check to make sure your power steering fluid level is full. That also might be the issue
