Cost

My mechanic priced me at $1500 to repair my head gasket and my intake manifold (basically rebuilding the top of the block) Is this a fair price for a 2001 Grand Prix with a 3.8 engine?

that seems high priced should be around 500-1000 depending where you go! try calling around.

Hi, I think chris is right, that seems a little steep. You might be able to buy a whole new motor for that price, but that wouldn't cover it being put in. keep looking around and I'm sure you can find someone more reasonable Luck! :D
