i recently replaced the blinker assy and in doing so i bent the copper ring inside the steering assy behind the wheel that the blinker contact pin touches after i did the install the horn would honk at a certain point when i turn the wheel. i have readjusted the copper ring and it now it sitting flush like before i did the replacement but the horn still honks when i turn how would i go about fixing it thank you

It is hard to say what is wrong without seeing it. It is grounding out somewhere when rotating. If you take the inflator(airbag) off, or away from the wheel, does it still happen? The only thing I can suggest is replacing the contact ring. That may or may not correct it, I don't know if it is assembled correctly.

well im not really a chevy/gmc person (subaru) but i will take it apart and see what i can find out

Sounds good, let me know the progress. Try it with the airbag off and see if it still acts up though.

Everything looks fine there, is there something you are trying to illustrate. Does the horn blow with the system in that state you have there?

yes still blows when you turn the wheel

It is shorting to ground further in. If you take the plastic slug out(with the two red wires)of contact, and it still does it, then it is not the steering wheel. It could possibly be the lock plate. If you remove the wheel, and SIR coil, loosely reinstall the wheel and see if it still does it. Then remove the lockplate, and the contact ring and see if it still does it.
