1990 Geo Tracker 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

How can I find out if a timing belt is working without removing the guard. The car ran jn 1st gear and when I put it into 2nd it lost power.I put it back in 1st and it ran. Then I shut it off,and now it won't start. It turns over OK.

If its a distributor driven ignition system remove the distributor cap and have a helper crank engine over while you look if the rotor is turning if not its gone
