I threw the rod bearings in my engine. (the manual) i got a car for free that had a bad transmission same year but an automatic, i took the engine out of the car took the transmission of that engine put my manual transmission back in my car hooked all the cables back up....i turn over the key and nothing...i get lights and all other electrical componets radio, wipers, lights but when i try to turn it over i dont get anything, i took the starter back off and took it down to shucks they tested it and it worked like a charm...i am getting power to the starter...i checked it with a volt meter...im not a mechanic and have put a lot of time and effort into the car...im about to tow it to the junkyard...any info would be great!

On manual transmission cars there is a clutch safety switch, in other words, you must depress the clutch to start engine.
So, I think since the engine is an automatic engine, you missed a connection somewhere, or the auto engine is missing a connection the manual car had.

Well I think it is the Clutch safety switch (manual) or Park lock safety switch (auto) circuit.

On an auto the car will not start unless it is in Park or neutral.
