May sound odd, but if I sit in my drive stick my clutch down without the engine on the gears are all so smooth and easy. As soon as I start properly driving for about five minutes my gear one is very hard to get into. When I change from second to first or any gear to first it is a straight up battle I have to jam it in and it makes a noise , I recently bought this car second hand so I have six months warranty on it would you recommend taking it back or feel it would be an easy fix?

First, check and make sure the clutch fluid is full. Most of these vehicles have a hydraulic clutch which consist of a clutch master cylinder and a slave cylinder. If the fluid is low, basically you are not disengaging the transmission from the engine. It would be similar to shifting without a clutch.

If the fluid is full, I suspect it will be one of the aforementioned components. Take a look through this link. It discusses the parts I mentioned. Please note that the link shows fluid being added to the master cylinder. On many cars, there is a separate reservoir for the clutch fluid.
