I accidentally left the gear shifter in Reverse when I parked?

I didn't realize until later. The dash lights turn on when I put the key in ignition but when I turn the key it clicks and doesn't start. Can't put car in any other gear. Is there any way to fix this without a tow truck?

Hi,

It sounds like the battery is drained. If you have a battery charger, try charging the battery. If you don't, try to jump start it.

Also, try this simple test to see if the battery is weak:

Try that and let me know what you find. Note: If you let it in reverse, the key likely wasn't turned fully off and allowed the reverse lights to remain on. This is why I feel the battery was drained. Also, the click you mentioned is also another indication of a weak battery.
