gear linkage replacement

I think i have a problem with the gear linkage. The car is stuck in third gear but the gear stick seems to be in the neutral position. I assume it is likely to be a linkage problem. There has been no issues with the car to date. was just after a estimated price to for a mechanic to replace the linkage. I might even try do do it myself if it is more than i want to pay. i just don't want to be ripped off.

Hi,

The Saturn Aura is the same vehicle in the US, which is where I am. The problem is, they weren't offered with a manual transmission. As far as a repair, it will really be based on what has failed. Have you taken a look to see if anything has come apart on the transmission as well as the shifter in the vehicle? Often times, there are plastic bushings/clips that fail.

Although I don't have the specifics on this specific model, let me know what you find and I'll try my best to help. If you see anything that seems odd, upload a pic for me to see.
