Hi,

First, confirm the transmission fluid is clean and full.

Here is a link to help:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-and-add-transmission-fluid

If it is clean and full, is it possible for you to record the noise it is making and upload it for me to hear?

Also, when you place the vehicle in park, does it hold as designed so the vehicle doesn't move? Is the transfer case in gear? For example, if you place it in 4wd hi, does it make a difference?

Let me know.

Hi Joe,

Thank you for your reply. I have uploaded the video with the sound of the noise when shifting and the car shifted doesn't move at all and when in neutral the sound stop also the fluid seems fine to me.

Hi,

The fluid does appear to be in good condition. I also noticed there is no grinding noise when you put it in park, so that tells me nothing is turning. Here is what I'm going to recommend. To me, it sounds like something related to the front pump. We need to scan the can-bus to determine if there are any codes related to the transmission.

The term CAN refers to the controller area network. Basically, the different modules (computers) communicate with each other via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.

Here is a link showing how it's done:

Let me know if this is something you can do or have done.

Take care,

Joe
