Gear box problem

That is the emergency mode. It can be caused by multiple issues. The only way to discover what is to use a dealer level scan tool to interrogate the transmission control unit and read what codes or faults are set. It could be as simple as a loose wire or bad sensor, or it could be internal transmission failure. The codes stored will give a map to look for the problem. (Oh, that car is actually a Daewoo Lacetti with GM badges, in case there is a Daewoo dealer nearby)
