Gasoline odor

I have a slight smell of gasoline when my truck is parked and shut down. I have replaced the gas cap and taken it to a shop, but they cannot find where the odor is coming from. I was wonder if this is a common problem or if you have any suggestions? Thank you.

What I would suggest is starting with checking the pressure of the fuel and see if you even have a leak.

I am attaching the spec below because if you have a decline in fuel pressure pretty quickly then you have an external leak or an issue with the regulator.

If you do not and the pressure remains steady with the engine and key off, then you most likely have a stuck purge valve that should be closed when the key is off.

Basically, the purge valve allows fuel vapor into the intake so that you can keep emissions down.
