Gas tank overfilling not warning when full

Twice in the past six months I have had problems with gas tank becoming overfilled with spillage. I am not trying to top off and manually full. Is it my car or the pump is repair costly?

That would be the pump at the station not shutting off. Nothing to do with the car.
