gas smell on oil cap and in coolant reservoir

there is a strong smell of gas on the oil cap and in the coolant reservoir, the car was driving fine then it started to over heat out of no where?

You either blew your headgasket or the engine block/head has a crack in it. Most likely it's just a headgasket issue.
