Good morning.
The fuel tank has rotted out internally and will no longer hold fuel.

You will need to replace the tank with either a new one or a used one to resolve this issue.

you will need to drain the fuel from the tank instead of letting it leak.

then you can remove the tank for replacement.

Can you explain how the tank is rotted internally? It is just hard to wrap my head around. Thanks.

ok

you need to remove the hose from the filler neck. remove the electrical connection at the fuel pump. remove the straps supporting the tank and using a floor jack with a piece of plywood, drop the tank

water collects inside the tank and rusts from the inside. yes, it may be leaking from the top but that's why you need to take it to a shop and have them confirm all this.
