Gas gauge malfunction- follow up from last eveningg

I don't know if you received my last reply which stated that while I cannot get. The gas gauge to go below the half mark if I put more gas in the needle will go up. It just won't go below the half mark. Taking your advise that is probably the sending unit do you know where it is located on my 98 Ford Escort and will it be necessary to drop the tank.There is nothing in my owner manual pointing it out. Last, I reviewed quite a few of your reviews and they are very good. Have you ever thought about going into sourciing maybe obsolete parts for older cars. Just a thought.
