Hi guys, I checked fuses in both boxes and I found that ...
1. Front Box/Engine, (picture 1, 2) Number 17 has no power when engine is on but not started. It has power when the engine is is starting?
2. Rear box/under seat, (picture3, 4)Number 19 and 20 has power when the engine is on but not started, 49 no power.
In the Manual book showing number 20 in 49 is blank, number 19 is power latch.
Page is showing that place should be empty?
What is power latch, which one, where located?
Thanks
With best wishes from Germany

Hi,

Looking through my manuals, in the rear box fuse 20 is for the electrical vent window. Fuses 19 and 49 are not used. See pics 1 and 2.

Here is where I have a question. The 5.3L V8 wasn't offered until 2003. So. I'm not sure what you are working with.

Let me know.

Let me tackle the 49 fuse first. I show that it is to be blank as well so if there is no power to it then you can just remove it. I suspect someone either put a fuse in there by accident or they thought it should have one.

I bet if you removed this fuse, you would see there are no metal tangs in the fuse box for this fuse. If there are, then if you removed the top of the fuse panel there would be no wires going to this fuse.

Fuse 17 is called a cranking fuse so there should only be power when you are cranking the engine. Then in the on and off position there should be no power. So, this sounds normal.

Finally, number 19 is a power latch if it is equipped with this which shows that on the manual, I have is blank as well. This means that this fuse block was used on other vehicles that are a power latch rear liftgate. More than likely you do not have this where you can raise and lower the liftgate with a button.

If this is the case, then it looks like everything is working the way it should.

Let me know if I am missing something. Thanks
