Car listed above is a 325xi. car has been running just fine. the other day on the way home the ABS, brake and transmission malfunction light came on. car is now in limp mode which means it's in 3rd gear tried setting it as described in the manual but that did not work check the fuse in the glove box and that was fine. checked the fuse for the transmission control module in box under the hood and that one was blown. changed the fuse and as soon as I turn the key to start engine it blew again. tried it a few times blows every time. seems like I have a direct short some place. any ideas where to look?

You are probably correct that you have a short that is drawing too much current that is blowing the fuse. Can you tell me which specific fuse is blowing? Can you get a picture of it or tell me the fuse number so that I can pull the correct wiring diagram?

The other possible cause is the module or another component on the fuse is causing the higher draw and blowing the fuse. Let me know this and we can go from there. Thanks
