I recently installed a new 3/8” fuel line in the back behind my bbk intake I had to remove the upper intake to do so . Since I was already back there I just went a head and replaced both 3/8” lines, put it back together started it ran for a second then flooded itself out. Had gas coming out the bbk throttle body. I replaced the fuel pressure regulator but problem is still there. Help!

Good afternoon,

I would disconnect the injector wires and turn the key to on and see if they still flood the engine. If it does, then the injectors are bad.

If it does not then either the wiring to the ECM has shorted or the ECM itself is bad.

I attached the wiring diagram of the injectors wires to the ECM and the location of the ECM.

What if I can’t keep my car at an idle? soon as it starts it floods itself out that quick.

The test is done with the engine off and key on.

Turn the key to the on position. Remove the connectors for the injectors and see if they still spray fuel.

Okay, so it starts now but keeps stalling. I’m guessing from all the flooding that occurred.

Okay, technically you cannot.

You static time it to get it running but the final needs to be done when it is running.

Get a test light and put the clip on the negative of the battery.

Then put the light on the negative side of the coil.

Make sure the engine is on top dead center compression stroke and the rotor pointing to the number 1 cylinder.then rotate the distributor until the light goes out. That is commanding the cylinder to fire or it is top dead center for timing.

Man, I'm about ready to give up on this piece of poo. now I can’t keep the battery charged up for nothing. Had it on a trickle charger all night got off work said 100 percent hooked car up tried to start nothing but clicks, put it back on charger said 4 percent. Knew I should have got a LS1.

No matter. You need a new battery. It is sulfated and will not take a charge.
