Getting P0625 fault code. I have replaced the pump, filter, and relay. At first I suspected the aftermarket fuel pump so I ordered and installed a new OEM VW pump. Still having a hard time starting when cold.

Hello,

The P0625 codes is for the alternator diode failure. To confirm the problem here is a guide that will how you how to test for AC voltage which is what the codes is telling us.

Check power to the pump, this can be an open circuit fault code.

It almost sounds like it could be the engine coolant temperature sensor. It could be off but not enough to trigger a code.

I would try a new sensor to see what happens
