Fuel pump relay fuse

I replaced both fuel pump and relay fuse, then one day it would not start. I removed and replaced the relay fuse and it starts. this is the same fuse. what could have happened? Is there any way to keep this from happening again?

Welcome to 2CarPros. With that description it sounds like the fuse was blown. If that is the case the common reason would be that the fuel pump is failing and drawing higher than normal current which blew the fuse. That can be tested using an ammeter connected in place of the fuse to see what the draw from the pump is. A normal current draw is around the 4-7 amp range. So if you test it and find a 10 amp draw the pump is due for replacement.
