Fuel pump

The car will not start. It turns but no start. Battery is new, plugs are new, pump runs when i put it direct to twelve volts. Did a few checks and found that the fuel pump is only getting 3.4 volts.

See how many volts are reaching the fuse #28 in the fuse panel when the key is first turned to run. Then if need be, check how many volts is present at the fuel pump relay socket pin 17 with the relay removed.

Scan for faults and post results, if you have around 8+ random engine faults it’s a sign that the FP relay and load reduction relay have failed. Post the faults first and I will be able to tell you if they are being caused by the relay.

If not, the wiring under the carpet on the a-pillar on those cars due start to corrode/short and cause strange electrical problems.
