Fuel problem

when the engine idle I can press the pedal and runs great, but when i test drive it it seems like it is not getting gas. would like to know how the fuel pump works when i test drive it, thank you .

The fuel pump works the same at idle as it does under load.

It may not be the pump. It could be something else such as a clogged catalytic converter not allowing the engine to breathe.
