Fuel problem

Been running or sitting forever?

Sock in tank stooped up?

Loose hose connections at tank or pump?

Hole in suction line from tank?

Is suction hose connected to correct pipe into tank (if there is a return line to tank)

Fuel pump is good?

Have you checked for fuel just before it reaches the carburetor?

As a "feel good", connect a short rubber fuel line from the fuel pump suction connection and drop the other end into a fuel can. Does this work?

Hey sorry it has taken a while to get back to you OK yes it has been sitting a little while but I have had it running and there are no loose hose connections and they are all connected to the right lines and fuel pump is good and I did put a hose in a gas can and it will pump so the only thing I don't know about is the sock in the tank and a friend said it shouldn't be that so I am not sure what to do so any help I get would be very helpful thanks

Did you install the push rod to the fuel pump when you reassembled it?

So it does pick up fuel from the test fuel can!

Move your fuel can near the fuel tank.

Snatch the fuel line loose at the tank and extend it to the fuel can. (you may need one of those brass barbed couplings to join the end of the fuel system to your extension hose to the can)

This will test the line all the way to the tank.

If it won't pick up, there's a hole or crimp in the line somewhere.

If it does pick up, it's gotta be in the fuel tank.

I reckon maybe you already understand all of that!

OK I will try that and let you know thanks and yes I did put the push rod back

OK I'm back and it is running now it was sucking air at my fuel filter that was the problem so thank all of you and thank you CJ for your advice it really helped thanks again
