When the truck is in gear about every eight to ten seconds the gas stops and you take your foot off the pedal and then put it back on and it works again

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

When this happens, do you mean the engine cuts out until you release the throttle? Is the check engine light on? If so, you should have the computer scanned to determine if there are trouble codes stored. Here is a quick video that shows how to use a scanner:

Let me know if I am correct with how the engine is running and if the check engine light is on.

Take care,
Joe

Welcome back:

If it stops getting gas, it would stall. Based on that, I believe you mean there is no throttle response. This vehicle has a throttle cable and a cable so it wouldn't be a sensor issue causing it. I have attached a picture of the throttle cable and mount for you. Make sure the cable and all retainers are tight, not slipping, and nothing is bent allowing the throttle to drop off even though you are not releasing the throttle.

If I misunderstood what you are asking, let me know. Also, let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
