Fuel Injector connector?

Hi,

There really isn't a way for oil to get in the connector unless you have a leaking valve cover, or someone used dielectric grease when they were reinstalled. It can thin and appear to be oil.

Hmm. It does have new gaskets on the lower and upper intake manifold I put on today. But it was just the two of those and nothing else. I clean off the injectors with some gas on a cloth like papa use to. But reinstalling everything a bolt snapped on me literally the last bolt before putting the air box and filter back on and adding more coolant. I just had to laugh and walk away. I’ll know more tomorrow after I fix the intake manifold bolt that broke. I’m sure I’ll have another question tomorrow lol. Between this site and YouTube it’s such a help.

You have the same kind of luck that I have. That bolt won't easily pull out of the manifold. And to access the broken potion, you have to take the top back off.

I got the bolt out, but I still have to extract the broken portion from the bottom. Got an extraction kit to do it. Where could I find a replacement bolt for it? Would you be able to point me in the right direction?

Ryan, I don't know where you are located, but where I am, we have two choices. There is a company called Fastenall and another (and don't laugh) called the Nut House. LOL

Anyway, I would take one of the unbroken bolts or both parts of the broken one and have it matched. You may even find one at a dealership, parts store, hardware store, and so on. I know they make replacement kits for different engines, but you would have to check for the specific engine size and year. I've even seen them on Amazon.

In Oklahoma, I’ve tried every hardware and auto store along with Lowe’s and Home Depot. I think I have to go to the dealership for this one sadly.

Check online as well. However, a dealership may be the only option. Sadly, I can't even look up a part number for a bolt to help guide you.

So, it was a dealership thing I have to order from, but I’m seeing if a good friend of mine that works in a machine shop can help out and just make me one. I have the specs for it m6x1x130. Got lucky and where it broke off at, didn’t have to drill it out or anything. Just grabbed pliers and twisted it off. I’m hoping machine shop can get it to me by end of week and I won’t have to pay 14 for the bolt then 20+ for shipping. You know how there are the hoses on the back of the plenum? Well, there is a hard line that curves, any idea what that goes too?

I attached a couple of pictures below for you to look at. Do you see the hose you are referring to? That is the rear of the upper manifold.

Also, if it is steel, it may be the EGR tube.

Well, if you're looking at the intake plenum, it would be the 4th hose from the throttle body, it’s in fact a steel pipe that curves down and to the passenger side. I notice that it’s missing a bolt on the left side where it mounts at. I’m having the best of luck with these bolts man.

If it is steel, I suspect it is related to the EGR. If you are missing a bolt that simply holds it in place, that should be an easy one to get.
