I added fuel injector cleaner to my car because my cars been misfiring after changing plugs and coils, but I didn’t know you had to add gas right after. Is something bad going to happen? How do I fix it? I really hope I didn’t mess up my car.

Also, I should add, I added it a couple days ago and haven’t driven it much, because I haven’t needed to. Please tell me some good news.

Hello,

How empty/full is your tank?
If the tank is empty this can cause engine misfire too as the fuel pump cannot suck properly and will ingest some air too. This can lead to fuel pump damage.

I would suggest if your tank is empty to not drive the vehicle and add at least ten liters of fuel before you attempt to drive your vehicle.

Cheers, Boris

I applied it at 3/4 and it’s at like half right now.

Just to jump in on this, it normally says on the bottle, how many gallons of fuel the bottle will treat. However, it is not that big of a deal to do it one time if you don't have the proper amount of fuel in it.

Basically, if you had 3/4 of a tank then you are fine.

As for this issue, if you have a misfire after changing the plugs and coils, then I suspect you have a faulty plug or coil.

So, if you have the old parts then I would suggest changing them out starting with the coils as that is the likely care on this.

I would suggest changing out one coil at a time to make sure you find the faulty part.

Also, you can unplug the coils one at a time. When the engine does not appear to run any differently than that is likely the cylinder that is misfiring.
