Most of the time the tank registers full tank, every now and then it will register empty. Before replacing the fuel pump I was wondering if there might be a bad ground causing the issue. Any ideas on what to look for

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Anything is possible, but most times it is the rheostat on the float or a bad connect at the pump. The pump and level sensor are grounded at the same point. You can just replace the fuel level sensor. See picture 1. I highlighted the part I'm referring to. Picture 2 shows ground location.

If you need directions for tank removal, pump replacement or anything, let me know.

Take care,
Joe

Thank you. I couldn't find any information and wanted to make sure it had a good ground before pulling the tank.

Welcome back:

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Were you able just to get the sender or did you have to purchase the entire assembly?
