When accelerating engine bogs down

It could be a dirty filter but needs to be confirmed.

I would check the actual fuel pressure to be sure the pump is not the issue. You can rent a tester at a parts store or buy a cheap tester at Harbor Freight.

I attached the procedure for you for the filter.

I also attached a picture of the test port for you for testing the pressure.

As far as price, a filter with labor is under $50.00.

A fuel pump could run between $350.00 to $500.00 depending on your area.

1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Remove the quick-connect fitting at the inlet of the fuel filter. Refer Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar).
4. Remove the quick-connect fitting at the outlet of the fuel filter. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar).
5. Drain any remaining fuel into an approved gasoline container.
6. Remove the fuel filter mounting bracket attaching nut.
7. Remove the fuel filter and mounting bracket.
8. Remove the fuel filter from the fuel filter mounting bracket.

Thanks for the reply. I will talk to my son in law, whom I'm pretty sure has one.
His father is a licensed mechanic and taught him the trade all though he's not licensed. He does all of his own work when he can on his older Subaru and their Chrysler Minivan, but knows when to take it to the local shop when it's beyond his ability!
