Fuel Filter light turned on?

Hi,

This vehicle isn't offered in the US, so I have little information on it. However, I will try my best to help.

Based on your description, I believe this has a diesel engine. Is that correct? Also, are you located in an area that has cold temperatures that tend to warm up throughout the day?

As far as a sensor, does it have one that attaches to the filter? See pic below, if so, disconnect the sensor wiring. It should have two wires. Connect a multimeter to it for testing continuity and attach one pin to each connector pin. You will see a specific amount of resistance. Move the level float on the sensor to see if there is a change in the resistance. If there is no change, chances are the sensor is bad. If there is a change, confirm there is power and ground to the sensor on the engine wiring connector.

I suspect you should find a 5v reference signal to the power side. The sensor will change the resistance which signals the ECM when there is a concern.

Please understand, I'm not familiar with this specific vehicle. The information I provided is a general rule that I follow when testing this type of sensor.
