Fuel filter

That's a tricky one. Normally I would say to take a dremel tool and grind the rounded corners back to something a wrench or vise grips or something could get a hold of and get i off like that, but we're talking about a fuel line and I don't recommend doing any kind of grinding, drilling, welding, etc. on any fuel lines or tanks. If it were me, I would simply replace the fuel line, and live to fight another day. If you feel up to it, you could try what I wrote above, or if you could somehow cut that section out, metal lines with compression fitting would probably work. Please keep us informed as to how things progress.

Maybe you can get a file on it and get a corner on the rounded out ones so you can fit some size wrench on it to get it broke loose. Just be careful, fuel vapor will ignite quite easily. Please keep us informed.

Have you ever used vise grips to remove a line nut?

I was not able to find any open-end extractor wrench locally at any of the parts or tools stores. They only have the extractor sockets and or closed-end grip-tite wrench set at Advanced. Do you know any local store that sells one?

I have used multiple tools when removing rounded fasteners from vice grips to just cutting the line and replacing a section to get things apart. My favorite ones for those are the ones pictured below. They grab more of the nut. The next option would be to just cut the line off as close to the nut as possible and re-flare the line with a new nut.
