Hello, please i have the car listed above that has been having black smoke. after changing a lot of sensors it still did not help. the black smoke is still there. we decided to fix a borrowed brain box for test of 2 days which i did and it stopped. am yet to change the brain box.. my question is, does black smoke consumes a lot of fuel?

Yes. Basically black smoke is unburned fuel that is going through the exhaust. It doesn't necessarily mean that it is using more fuel but it is just not burning it all in the combustion chamber.

If you changed the control module and it fixed the issue then clearly that was the issue and more then likely it was causing the engine to be over fueled or an insufficient spark.

Let me know if you have questions. Thanks

Sounds great. However, we need to keep all communication on this site so that others can see what you do if they have the same issue.
