Shut off while driving will not start

Hey MICHAEL GORDON,

Did you have any dash lights that came on prior to this happening.

I am primarily thinking about the charge warning light.

Potentially you have a battery charging issue.

Have you tried to jump start the vehicle?

Charged battery. still will not start. loosened injector turn engine no fuel came out.filled filter with fuel first.so i think it is not pumping fuel to injectors.

Can you confirm the engine you have in your connect?

It does sound like you may have a fuel pressure issue.
After charging the battery it will turn over at normal speed eg. not sluggish/slow to crank?

Have you got access to a fuel pressure gauge?

If you turn the ignition on and listen at the fuel tank filler or at the tank you should hear the fuel pump buzzing.

No no buzzing from tank. its a 1.8tdci. when i turn engine.engine turns as norm.so could it be pump in tank? Is it a big job?

Unfortunately i do not have the information on the 1.8TDCI here.

Checking the fuses in the under hood fuse box will always be the first step.

From what i can see the 1.8TDCI has a common rail fuel system which has a low pressure and high pressure fuel system. The high pressure system uses a timing belt driven pump but i cannot see how the low pressure side operates.

If you can locate a workshop manual for the vehicle you will be able to find trouble shooting guides for the fuel system.
