You say the labor is around 1.1 hours, but over the internet, some say it can be up to four hours.

The SRT time from alldata which is what most shops use is 1.1 hours. the internet is not always accurate. this is accurate.

it is not a hard job at all. a seasoned tech can do this in less than one hour.

Okay, your picture would not enlarge for some reason.

I attached a picture for you of one from Rock Auto. it has to have the lip on the seal.

Okay, looks to be the correct seal. The one I found had a lip that bottoms out when installed but this will work.

Check your fluid level. it may be low in fluid.

see if the noise is coming from the power steering.

Yeah, I will check it when i get home in the afternoon, but if it is low on fluid, would that mean i have a leak? I have not noticed any fluid leak besides the one from the seal.

Yes it would.

Check the fluid first to be sure.

power steering fluid should be either clear or red.

is the noise coming from the pump while it is running?

My fluid is okay, a friend of mine said that is not the sound you get with low fluid. a few minutes ago, when i first started the car it worked fine, i went to dollar general, no sound, after that i went to the gas station, and after leaving it started again. i feel like it comes from the steering wheel or right in front of the steering wheel, and it just does it when turning both left and right.

That sounds like the power steering pump. I would stop by a shop and have them listen to it to confirm.

If it is the pump, I would start by having the power steering fluid flushed out. it could be dirt or debris in the fluid causing the noise.

Okay, have them check it first. a flush may take care of it.

I took it to the mecanic, he said my pump and fluids are fine, and that he doesnt relate the sound to a bad rack and pinion or anything, he said its more of a rubbing sound on the steering wheel and told me to lubricate the intermediate shaft and other parts

Okay.

There is an upper jacket bearing you cannot access. if the noise is at the top of the steering wheel, the steering wheel and lower components have to be removed to access.

If it is the lower then you can spray it from the outside.
