sometimes the automatic transmission won't shift into overdrive. it'll just keep revving and never shift. Then, when you park the car and restart the engine, the overdrive works just fine. This started after my dashboard threw a check engine light, and I scanned it for a P0330 code.

Hi,

The code you have is related to the bank 2 knock sensor. This sensor is mounted in the engine block and is responsible for fine-tuning ignition timing for optimal performance. I don't see how the sensor is tied into the transmission issue, but anything is possible.

First, when you got the code, was a basic scan tool used? I asked because most of them can't read the CAN circuit. Therefore, there could be diagnostic trouble codes stored in other modules that weren't recognized.

CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the computers/modules are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan (CAN SCAN) will identify codes regardless of the module.

If you haven't already, I recommend having the can-bus scanned. Here is a video showing how it's done:

As far as the knock sensor issue, I attached the directions below for the removal and replacement of the sensor. There are two sensors on the vehicle. The one you need to replace is bank 2, which is on the left side of the engine.

Included in the directions are the procedures for testing the sensor. Do this before replacing it. Here is a link you may find helpful:

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
