Front end alignment

Based on these numbers the good news is it doesn't look like anything is bent because there isn't much out of whack. However, I would not take it back to that shop because they don't know what they are looking at.

The trick to doing a good alignment is finding out what the vehicle is doing and then put the numbers to counteract that.

The alignment machines these days have made it easier to do alignments but that means anybody can now do alignments. They just make the number green and send it down the road without addressing the vehicle characteristics. As vehicles get older they develop wear and will not drive as they did when they were new even if the numbers are exactly on the spec.

We need to know what these numbers mean so that we can set them in a fashion to make the vehicle do what we want. If your vehicle is pulling right we need the numbers to make it go left to counteract that pull.

So based on your issue we need to increase either the camber or caster split. A vehicle is going to pull to the side of the vehicle with the higher camber or caster.

So the way we make a vehicle not pull to one side is increase the difference between the two numbers. Right now your camber split is basically 0. So the way to fix this, we need to increase the left side camber slightly to get the vehicle to go to the left and that will counteract the pull to the right. Your caster is already a degree apart so we can leave that alone.

What i would suggest is calling a shop and tell them the vehicle is pulling and ask if they do alignments or just set it to green? If they actually do alignments then they will laugh and tell you to bring it in.

So it isn't a worn part like an a frame or such? I am familiar with old cars not the newer ones being 74. Thanks for the suggestions.

I would not think you have a worn or bent part. If the vehicle was not pulling prior to the tire issue and now it is, and the alignment numbers are not way out then it is safe to say nothing is bent.

More then likely what happened is when you hit what you did, it just knocked the caster out as it would not have knocked the camber to be even.

Like I said, you just need someone who is going to do an alignment to correct the pulling to the right. You don't want someone to just do an alignment. You want someone to correct the pulling and if they just do an alignment they are going to look at the numbers and say, "they are all in the middle of the spec, you should be good to go" just like they told you at this last place.
