Front axle leak

Just had upper and lower ball joints replaced and axle seal. It's dripping from the axle near the passenger tire from the axle. Is this from residual differential oil?

Hello,

If it is an active leak (keeps leaking) then it cannot be residual differential oil.

If you can upload some pictures of what you are observing.

Did you have this leak prior to replacing the seal?
Is the leak from the same seal you replaced?

It was more of a seepage before the work was done, it's from the same seal side that was replaced, but the shop did do the ball joints and u joints during that time, so I was thinking maybe some oil entered the axle tube when that job was done or at least hoping. I parked the truck on a slope with the leak side low at an angle it dripped pretty good then it seems like the drip slowed down. The truck listed above is a Cummins 4x4 2500. I checked the front diff fluid I can put my finger 1/2 to 3/4 inch or slightly less in the plug hole then that's where the fluid level is at.

You know if the seal got damaged or not in properly it will leak. Typically, in this type of instances the leak will get worse.
So, did you say the leak slowed down?
