Fried ECM?

I had a no crank no start, I checked all the relays fuses and replaced the starter, still nothing just random starts. So, I had it taken to the Ford dealership in town and the first thing they told me was they were replacing the ECM or PCM, then called and said they had to make two new keys. Then it was the transceiver, then they called back saying whoever worked on the truck last hooked the ECM or PCM up backwards and now it’s fried. Ts there any way this guy could have fried my computer and is now trying to cover himself?

Hi,

Did he explain how the PCM was hooked up backward? The connectors are different sizes and really can't be mixed up.

No, all he said was it was hooked up backwards and that over time, it burned it out. My truck ran like it was brand new and never had any problems until the no crank no start that would still randomly start.

Now he’s saying the truck still might not run after a new set of keys a new transceiver for the keys and a new ECU.

Hi,

That certainly isn't encouraging. Here is how I look at that response. Either he doesn't feel confident in his diagnosis, or he feels the issue is something different. The repair he is recommending isn't a cheap one.

Is there anyone other where you live that can check it?
