speedometer/odometer not working!

2000 ford windstar- while driving today the speedometer stopped working and the odometer went blank to ---------. The RPM gauge still works. Can I fix this by checking a wire or could it be something else.

I had this problem and it turned out to be a blown fuse. I think it was #16, but not sure.
