I have a 1998 Ford Windstar, v6-3.8L, approximately 105,000.
Ive been having the radiator fluid visibly turn black in the reservoir. I flushed the radiator fluid and had it turn again. I took it to the dealer and they said they simply felt it was rust and sediment and they could do a better job using their kit they could get more pressure on it and use a solvent that would help really clean it out. After driving it only a week after getting it back from the dealer, the fluid is turning black again. It does look like rust, not like oil from a head gasket. Would flushing again be advisable or should I look at replacing the radiator? I talked with a couple companies online, some said that radiator was easy to replace, yet a couple said it was a little more difficult. Is this something a novice could do themselves?
