My battery light went on, when you start the car it goes off, but a couple of seconds or a minute latter it goes on. Took it to my mechanic he said that it was the battery, as the light didn't go off now he says that is the alternator.
As he didnt have one he gave me the car back and I'm driving as if there was no problem - with the ligh on! Even he says that the battery is taking charge, but he wants me to put the alternator... I'm I being scammed here or this is a common problem?
What should I ask him?

Hi there,

If the battery light is on, the alternator is not charging, you will eventually have a flat battery if you don't get it looked at.
