I am told the wheel sensor could be a problem making the abs light come on . Also a sensor near or behind the brake fluid reservoir that is making the red brake light stay on . I have had this problem a long time . I have had people inspect the brakes and npo problems found with the brakes . A Ford dealer said the caliper was sticking or could be sticking .

There are a number of things that can cause the ABS light to illuminate. One item is definitely a wheel sensor, but which one? A different diameter wheel will also cause it to light.

A sticking caliper would not casue the ABS light to come on, unless it was seriously dragging that wheel to a slower speed, in which case heat and burning would be your main problem. Otherwise, a sticky caliper will cause the pads to wear unevenly.

I would take your van to a parts store and ask them to read the brake codes, which should give you the specific area of the problem. The store will probably do this for free, since they also have most of the parts to repair your problem.
