may just need flushed and refilled with fresh fluid . when pump starts to fail it usually gives off horrible noise and leaks.

when i am driving,(usually down the highway) every once in a whie i lose power in the acceleration. The enginestill revs, but it will top outat about 40 miles per hour. This has happened about once a week for the last three weeks. After I park it, and turn off the engine, let it sitfor a little bit, and start it back up, it seems to fix itself. Any ideas what could be causing this so I can get this fixed before it becomes a real big problem?

your original question was about power steering issue, it had nothing to do with acceleration or anything that you are talking about now......
