1996 Ford Windstar 6 cyl

I have just bought a 1996 ford windstar and have been driving it around. Well teh other day i added radiator fluid to the radiator. I was out running errands and discovered radiator fluid smell. When I looked I discovered on the neck of the radiator 2 things. One is the hose that goes to the overflow tank. The other place has no hose adn can not figure out where it might even go. This is where I am loosing the antifreeze from after I filled up the radiator. Any ideal where this goes to? OR is the radiator supposed to only be filled up so far. I can't afford to take it into a shop, as I am recovering from a car accident adn not working.

Hello,

Not sure I quite follow you. Can you take a pic and post it? Most only have the one nipple that the overflow hose connects to.

Okay off to the left side of radiator neck you will see the overflow drain. Then on the right side of the neck you will see the grey tape with a screw in it. I could not find any hose that it connected to so I am not sure why the extra nipple. Any help you can give me would be great. As i said I am recovering from a bad car wreck and can not afford to take to the shop.

Sorry for delay in getting back with you....

I am not sure were it goes. I cannot find any diagrams and have not come across that in the few that I have worked on. Also, do you know if that is the original radiator? Cause from looking at replacements they don't have but the one nipple for the overflow tank. So I am wondering if that was made like that incase the overflow tank on some other vehicles that radiator worked in was on the drivers side. Hence that nipple should have had a rubber cap on it with a clamp. So I would just goto your local parts store and find a rubber cap to put on it and use a clamp to hold it on.

Thank you very much for your help!!!!!!Hopefully that will help and keep the antifreeze IN the radiator and not where it does not belong. May God Bless You.
