Is the CrankShaft Sensor the cause of a crank no start issue?

Does a crank shaft sensor have anything to do with my van turning over but not starting?

Short answer is yes it does. The starter will turn the engine over but the ECM needs to know engine position in order to fire the plugs and injectors.
