2002 Ford Truck Turns over but will not start

Parked 2002 F-150 Lariat in drive after routine errands. Returned a few days later to use, truck unlocks normally with keyless, key and remote. Put key in ignition, truck cranks, but will not start. Took key off ring as book suggests. Tried again, same thing. Can a key de-code itself sitting on a kitchen table for a couple of days???

Hi... There is not a blinking. flashing or steady security light on at all. This had me troubled from the beginning.

No not likly...Does security light blink once every 3 seconds? Put key in turn to on, does light go on solid for 3 seconds then go out?

TEST B: THEFT INDICATOR LIGHT IS ALWAYS/NEVER ON - NO 3 SECOND DELAY OR NO THEFT INDICATOR LIGHT PROVE OUT 1. Connect WDS or NGS tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below center of instrument panel, right of steering column, right of steering column. Using NGS tester, trigger instrument cluster active command THEFT LMP to ON. If THEFT indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If THEFT indicator illuminates, THEFT indicator is functioning properly at this time. 2. Remove instrument cluster and access THEFT indicator LED. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance between LED terminals in both directions. Resistance should be more than 10 k/ohms in one direction, and 10-20 ohms with test leads reversed. If resistance is as specified, replace instrument cluster, repeat self-test and clear DTCs. If resistance is not as specified, replace LED. Clear DTCs and repeat self-test. Check fuses is the only other thing you can do, reprogramming a new cluster requires the use of Ford's New generation star tester.
